From the Bichlhof to the "Hochwildalm"

The starting point of this challenging hike is the Bichlalm chairlift which takes you to an altitude of 1700m above sea-level. From there you walk on a small trek over a light ascent beneath the "Stuckkogel", then up to the "Gaisbergsattel" (1683m), and then further onto the "Gebrajoch" (1779m). Below the great "Gebra" you pass the old mine and hike over soft alpine grass to the "Hochwildalm" (1557m). There you can fortify yourself with a typical Tyrolean snack and/or with locally produced "mountain cheese" (a delicacy!).

Finally, the route takes you down towards the "Niederwildalm" and to the "Auracher Wildpark", which is located at approximately 1100m above sea-level. Take some time to admire the spectacular view. From the "Wildpark" you can take a taxi-shuttle to the "Bichlalm" bus stop and ride a bus back to the hotel.
